I've gone in via SSH, I've selected option 1 for update software image, then I've run option 17 to restart asterisk. I've repeated this a couple of times, and I've even used option 18 to reboot the entire system.

Still showing control panel 1.5.8.

What am I doing incorrectly here?

You will not see a version change because you are still running the 1.5.8 image. The updates add the features that will be in the 1.5.9 image when released. You just get them before we make the official release. I hope that makes sense.

There have been some reports that the updates don't get applied. If you hit option 1 and it kinda just sits there, let me know. I have found the update server is blocking some IP addresses. If yours is one, I will have to whitelist you on the server.

This is what we have done for 1.5.9 so far.

1.5.9
1) Redesign SuperMon
2) Changed Software Update to use ftp passive mode
3) Added node shutdown from Supermon

In terms of updates being applied, when run option 1, I get an immediate "no such file" then a bunch of "downloads" (screenshot attached), then it just drops back to the Asterisk menu. Is that the expected behavior? Is there a log I can use to see if it actually applied anything?

Just to confirm, I am accessing it at http://<nodes-local-ip>/supermon/

I used the 1.5.8 image downloaded from this web site, and it's a fresh image I just put in place yesterday. No changes to stock other than modifying rpt.conf to add my zip code for weather and doing the same to crontab so that it announced weather on the hour.

Edit: Based on the screenshot attached below, *something* did happen this time when I used the update command... the "node not in database" stuff is new. Not sure that's a step forward though. It does not like whatever permissions issue/missing file is going on there!

I don't think "node not in database" is related to the update issue, other then it looks like you have an internet issue. The nodelist gets updated when you boot the node and then every 5 minutes. The update is just a FTP download. I can see that you are registering with the server when you boot, but for some reason you node is having trouble downloading. Maybe reboot your router, if you get a new IP address after the reboot, let me know.

Your Supermon should show and IP of 73.89.1.112 right now.
